hellocloud photography by Ken Lönnström bio picture

I love painting with words and describing life with pictures!

Born to this world screaming like everyone else, upset about leaving my safe and secure hidingplace. Where ever I looked there were unfamiliar things, peoples and expressions. Something was sounded in my so called ears, which I later understood were words. New places scared me.

As life has moved on I have come to realize that life really is meant to be lived the way you desire, no matter what. You and I, we can overcome all obstacles and live our dreams instead of just creating images of a different life.

At hellocloud you can read my travel stories, look at my photos and read some of my deeper thoughts or even perhaps some poetry. It will fulfill all my needs and hopefully you’ll find something worth reading or gazing at.

Stay happy!
Ken Lönnström

In this world of unnecessary hurry

Slow down and breath. Enjoy the beautiful silence the night and darkness brings. You can do it although you are surrounded by people. You do have the control of blocking out everything.

For instance, all around me there are people talking and drinking beer like old and new friends are supposed to do. They are fooling around and screaming in different languages to one another, but still, here I am in a chair next to our Volkswagen, closing my eyes and listening to a meaningful song by Staind called “Tangled up in you”.

I’m dreaming of my wonderful friends, both old and new ones and others I do not yet know. How I wish to meet all of you and just laugh. You great people are from all around the world. Germany, USA, Canada, England, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy, Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand and of course Australia.

The biggest dream I’ve ever had is to meet all of you at the same time. To just see all of you from every different age group there is, interact and get to know one another. Wouldn’t that be bloody brilliant?

Go with the wind

Being caught in the moment
when the realization comes to you
that all you ever think and do
is what you have always done
is frightening and overwhelming

In that blink of an eye you feel
despair creep into your whole being
and the tears you before hid inside
will keep falling even when they dry up
as you try to understand what happened

To what place did the time disappear?

How could it pass in front of your eyes
at the same time as you were working
doing the laundry, buying a new stereo
and dreaming about everything
you wanted to do since you were five

Was this all life was about?

I know how being enlightened feels
though I no longer feel the despair
instead I am filled with love and curiosity
and driven by a hunger for more
of the excitement life has to offer

When you realise you live a life not desired
you are only one step, only one thought
away from your dream which you can live in
as long as you want and feel that life
is worth living instead of just watching

Be true to yourself and for once
fly the whole way up to the clouds
which is to be honest, not that far

I promise you that they are soft
though quite moist so bring a wetsuit
or one extra pair of clothing and gumboots

The view is spectacular.

The Wheel of Progress

IMG_7529

On rare occasions I have dreams that I actually remember. Most often they involve my past, what I’ve been through and they try to teach me things. At some instances when I’ve had problems or questions I’ve been pondering, they have been resolved not by me directly. They have been resolved by dreams. Sometimes when dreaming it is just like I’m an actor, playing a roll I can’t really change and experience things all over again, sometimes for years until they make sense. Do you recognize that sort of dreams?

On a different subject. Every day I think of you, my family and friends, wishing you were here to experience all these exciting things alongside me. It is a unique type of life I have experienced these last two years. Sometimes I get amazed myself when thinking about how far I’ve come and in that sense not only in distance. Personal development. Something all of us crave for every once in a while, to feel that we are getting somewhere. Not wasting the years, so that in the end you cannot remember which year you did what since they were all the same.

What I wanted to say is that I think of my family and friends every single day. Among those I count persons I’ve only met once that I still keep close to my heart. I promise never to stop striving for a life more suitable for me and wish you to promise the same thing to yourself. And not only promise, you have to mean it as well. Lets develop and expand and experience ourselves in all the ways possible for as long as we live. Come on, I dare you to live a unique life. :)

Having fun, eh?

These last few days I’ve been a bit cut off from the world outside of Point Cook. Lots of planning with our 3500 km trip that we had scheduled for today, though circumstances change and so does our planning. We needed two new tyres to our v-dub Herman the German, which haven’t been easy to find. That question was resolved today, when we meet with Nick in Melbourne.

An awesome guy with a real sense of humour, a beautiful wife and adorable kids. It was so nice seeing a VW-fanatic once again!

I’ve also been working on Herman, because there was this noise that came from the rear. Of course things happens just before you are about to start the journey. Well, rather now than later when we are on the Nullarbor Plain. Google that, and you’ll see what we’re up against. Desert is probably a mild word. In latin Nullabor means “no-trees” which might explain it a bit. Click here for our travel map.

The last weekend we catched up with Josh and Cassidy whom I photographed a few weeks ago. Look at this post. This weekend they had reinforcement by their brother Luke who is in this picture. We had so much fun and I took an insane amount of pictures considering we only met them for a few hours.

Well well, the pictures will end up here eventually. Depending on how curious you readers are. That was a summary of my last few days, but please tell me, how have you been?
