hellocloud photography by Ken Lönnström bio picture

I love painting with words and describing life with pictures!

Born to this world screaming like everyone else, upset about leaving my safe and secure hidingplace. Where ever I looked there were unfamiliar things, peoples and expressions. Something was sounded in my so called ears, which I later understood were words. New places scared me.

As life has moved on I have come to realize that life really is meant to be lived the way you desire, no matter what. You and I, we can overcome all obstacles and live our dreams instead of just creating images of a different life.

At hellocloud you can read my travel stories, look at my photos and read some of my deeper thoughts or even perhaps some poetry. It will fulfill all my needs and hopefully you’ll find something worth reading or gazing at.

Stay happy!
Ken Lönnström

Time flies when love is all around us

kj091

One year have truly passed so quickly. Today it is one year ago since me and Jenny went to Fraser Island, ran up and down the beach like maniacs because of the jump sharks. Of course they don’t exist, but we didn’t know that because our guide lied to us. He told us that if we went to close to the water, the big sharks could jump up and bite us. Then patiently wait for the tide to turn in order to drag us with them.

We had just been to the Champagne Pools, was strolling back to the Indian Head where we’d left the car and as we walked back, all alone, we talked and held hands. After a moments hesitation I asked Jenny if we were a couple. We stopped to gaze at each others. Under our bare feets were the sand and the noise from the sea was quite loud when Jenny finally answered “Yes, I would like that. Really much actually.”

Exactly a year ago we slept in our tent and held each other so soft and hard at the same time. From that moment none of us have ever let go and never will.

This lovely picture is taken by Juliana Wiklund (morethanwords.se). She is an extraordinary gifted photographer who knows how to catch feelings and true love instead of just developing pictures. We were lucky to meet her on my birthday, just before we went to Australia.

Sorry guys but I’m heading off to bed to hug Jenny…

Lots of love

ps. Yes I put that very big watermark on the picture. :)

True love

IMG_5074

In the middle of August me and Jenny met up with friends of ours that we had, by accident, gotten to know. Who knew when we met them that they would be so incredibly beautiful in all the ways possible? This day when we went on a roadtrip, I more or less told them that I would take their photos, no mather what they thought. Strangely enough they didn’t mind it at all, which gave me all of these pictures. If you want to read more about that day, click here.

These are actually the first couple-pictures I’ve ever been working on and I can now understand that so many photographers want to shoot weddings and couples. Not only because of all the love energy. No no, there is also something poetic about working with them, both the couple and the pictures. One question I asked myself was: “If I went to a photographer, what would I want to be shown in the pictures?”

Please, enjoy the pictures and leave a comment about anything ranging from dish clothes to travelling or even photography.

Writing a blog entry in a hot geothermal pool, is that nice or what?

P8282083

As the blog title says. I am writing this blog entry from a hot geothermal pool in Rotorua on my iPod Touch. It’s late at night and we are just soaking in 37 well-deserved degrees. We have survived our first days and enjoy New Zealand very much.

About the mauri people, the real kiwis… they are least to say, in lack of better words, massive. Not fat, just massive built. Look and move around like big treestomps recently uprooted. I’ll get you some pictures one day.

Tomorrow we are gonna plan our whole trip. There are so many things to see and do! We have already made some changes already, for instance we have rebooked our flight so we’ll be staying here until the 17th of September instead of the 6th. And also we have extended our campervan Bamse. :)

Lots of love from the hot (very hot) geothermal pool
Ken and his woman

Edit. We took some awesome funny pictures which you can see in this Facebook-album. Taken with my Olympus water- and shockproof camera, which turned out to be not fully as waterproof as the day I bought it. After some pictures I got memory card read error. Uhuh.

Took it apart and it was wet. Luckily for me, after some drying with papers and a hairdryer it began working again and all our pictures were still there. Very nice! Se nice, in german. Therefore the very happy picture in the end. :) And remember, all pictures are unedited.

That’s the name of two wonderful human beings. We have been lucky enough to have spent the day with them on a road trip with Herman. Herman also likes them, he said so on our way home. They made him smile! And blush, when I showed him the pictures I had taken. To be honest, it looked quite funny since he is already orange.

We have been to Beechworth, an old gold miners town which is quite famous in this area and is also filled with tourists. They have a highly recommended ghost tour in an abandoned mental hospital, a big candy store with lots of “black” dolls and with a no-camera-policy, an awesome brewery with real german pretzels and good bear. For those who enjoy that. And Jenny also notes that they have a great bakery.

After Beechworth we went to Woolshed Falls which is not far away, even with European standard. Jenny tried, as always, to fall down in a river. But this time a slightly larger one. I finally got the opportunity to adventure into an undiscovered area… Couple portraits! The hard drive is bursting with great pictures, although next time I’ll take even better ones.

For each time I pick up my camera, I learn something new. Either it is a new technique about my camera, another way of using my eyes or practising skills in making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. No matter what, it’s a great feeling of learning!

Have a wonderful night and thanks for today!

The truth and nothing but the truth

Since I’ve been so bad on updating my blog for several different reasons – I now have to write everything from scratch and as good as I can remember. Probably not as detailed as before – but that may not hurt that much since I write about lots of rubbish. For instance – what I eat and yaddi yaddi.

To be honest. I’ve been feeling quite bad because of this whole blog thing. Let me tell you some of my thoughts. For instance, which language am I supposed to write in? Swedish or English? The language which most of the world understands or the language only Swedes can read? And I like writing in English, since in my opinion English is more beautiful. Of course it depends on what you write.

I’ve decided however to write in English since I’ve gotten to know lots of people from here who might go in and read my blog and writing in Swedish feels kinda disrespectful to be honest.

There are two more major reasons why I haven’t written on the blog. One of them is that I don’t like the layout, nor do I like the way I upload pictures and have to do lots of things manually which sucks, since it’s more of an effort that way. Not as easy as for aunt Vexy (vexy.blogg.se) which blog I love. That is just a much better blog-design, blogg.se instead of blog.com and so I have figured about changing blog since I don’t like this one.

Believe me guys, I want to upload lots of pictures so you can see everything. But it haven’t been the “easiest” way. And now… I have 4500 pictures I’ve taken since I came here. Yes, oh my god. And I don’t think it’s that nice to photoshop-pictures and so on. Today I have been trying to organizing them.

And the last reason is that I have not been in the mood of doing anything since Jenny left. As you might (or might not) have understood, me and Jenny had the most awesome time a couple could ever have. You could almost say it was magic, more dream than reality.

Of course I have been sad since she left. Really sad and a bit lonely. My feelings have been mixed together with joy, since I now am together with this wonderful and just… wow… woman.

And now, more for my sake than yours, I am going to try and recall everything I’ve been through since the last time I wrote a proper blog entry. Which is quite a lot. And it’s important for me to remember all my different encounters with people from all over the world and ranks, rich or poor, brasilian or Canadian or for instance how a real aussie house and family looks like. Or how amazing traveling with Jenny has been.

So, now my story continues.

Bamsekramar!

PS: “Ken gillar tjejer, Ken gillar tjejer…” Ulf din knasbom. Ken gillar Tjejen, Ken gillar Tjejen, ska det va. Och fröken Vexy, jag höll vår agreement för jag skrev nämligen allt detta efter vi pratat men sedan la nätet av. Dumt va? *skrattar*

Sailing in the Whitsunday Islands

Hello to everyone,
Me and Jenny are having an awesome time! Even undescribable. We have been out sailing and snorkeling for three days among some of the things. It was a bit creepy sometimes and that Jenny I’m with tried to drown me a couple of times but hey – it’s only healthy swallowing salt water huh?

There aren’t really any words to describe everything right now. Think it has to sink down into my memory first but lets say that we have been sailing, snorkeling, went to Whitehaven beach which is made out of white sand. Or it’s not really like sand, but silica. One special thing about silica is that it doesn’t get warm unlike sand.

We have looked at the night sky, almost full moon.Yesterday we landed on an island called Black Island which we had for ourselves. Only 18 people stranded on this island for a couple of hours. Totally amazing.

Tomorrow we’re on our way to our next big thing, more of that in a couple of days.

Must go now, take care! Hugs and kisses.
