hellocloud photography by Ken Lönnström bio picture

I love painting with words and describing life with pictures!

Born to this world screaming like everyone else, upset about leaving my safe and secure hidingplace. Where ever I looked there were unfamiliar things, peoples and expressions. Something was sounded in my so called ears, which I later understood were words. New places scared me.

As life has moved on I have come to realize that life really is meant to be lived the way you desire, no matter what. You and I, we can overcome all obstacles and live our dreams instead of just creating images of a different life.

At hellocloud you can read my travel stories, look at my photos and read some of my deeper thoughts or even perhaps some poetry. It will fulfill all my needs and hopefully you’ll find something worth reading or gazing at.

Stay happy!

Let’s meet the days together

“I miss you when something really good happens, because you are the one I want to share it with. I miss you when something is troubling me, because you are the one who understands me so well. I miss you when I laugh and cry because i know that you are the one that makes my laughter grow and my tears disappear. I miss you all the time, but I miss you most when I lay awake at night and think of all the wonderful times we spent with each other; for those were some of the best times of my life.”
Quote is borrowed from Jeanette Winterson on Thinkexist.com

True friends are absolutely amazing. They can make a chewing gum seem funny. A broken heart is definitely not a problem, they lend you their own heart until yours is whole again.  And even if we all knew that the End of the World were upon us, our true friends would make it feel like a vacation.

“Pack your bag light mate, we’re off to buy some ice cream so we can enjoy the fireworks peacefully. And oh, don’t forget the sunscreen.”

Cruising to the beach

IMG_6896

Yeah what can I really tell you? We left around lunchtime today to go for a spin with our orange beetle Herman the German and came a bit further than we’d expected! We drove first to Torquay which is famous for its surfing locations. After a walk and chillout on the beach we continued on the Great Ocean Road. It’s a beautiful road with lots of curves and twists which inspires the Colin McRae in me, shouting out “Easy right, hard left, S-bend!” Well, maybe not shouting but you get the drift.

A lot of bends and turns later we arrived in Lorne which seemed like a pretty relaxed place with its beaches, backpackerpeople and nice restaurants. We had the best burgers ever and relaxed, taking in the atmosphere and tasted the salty air.

Being able to drive an old suntanned beetle to the beach, with the windows down and Beach Boys pumping high in the summer, is a pretty good feeling… Must admit that it’s a bit tempting to buy two surfboards and then mount on the roof of Herman to finalize the surflook. What do you think?

And oh by the way, did I mention that summer is finally here? :)

Fearless and colorful fun

IMG_6734

Around two weeks ago I met these wonderful kids, Josh and Cassidy. Both their parents were busy one day so they came and visited their auntie Jen, whom we live with. I actually met them for the first time last year and I must admit that I’m quite fond of them. Their brother Luke, who is not in the photos, is also cute and awesome.

They came to our place early in the morning. Josh brought his laptop and were having a videocall with a friend. Cas sat on Jens computer and played Farmville on Facebook. She also did lots of test on us. For instance Cas determined that if my Jenny would be a Converse-shoe, she would be the blackest of them all.

For lunch we made our now famous swedish pancakes, served with lots of berries, icecream and sugar. Instant death by pancakes, as we call them. When all of us were so full that we could burst, we went to a small playground to loose some of the energy. After that Jen drove us all to the Point Cook Homestead. A beautiful place with old buildings, a café and a beach. Josh and Cas collected shells and ran around poking the dead jellyfish on the beach. They were massive!

Before we, unfortunately, had to return the kids, we stopped at this huge and fun playground!  For instance they had a pirate ship and a really long slide that exited from it which gave me lots of actionpics.

All in all, it was a magic day!

True love

IMG_5074

In the middle of August me and Jenny met up with friends of ours that we had, by accident, gotten to know. Who knew when we met them that they would be so incredibly beautiful in all the ways possible? This day when we went on a roadtrip, I more or less told them that I would take their photos, no mather what they thought. Strangely enough they didn’t mind it at all, which gave me all of these pictures. If you want to read more about that day, click here.

These are actually the first couple-pictures I’ve ever been working on and I can now understand that so many photographers want to shoot weddings and couples. Not only because of all the love energy. No no, there is also something poetic about working with them, both the couple and the pictures. One question I asked myself was: “If I went to a photographer, what would I want to be shown in the pictures?”

Please, enjoy the pictures and leave a comment about anything ranging from dish clothes to travelling or even photography.

Where would we be without youth?

IMG_1396

Lately I have been thinking about kids and parents. All of us have different experiences. I have honestly disliked and have had problems handling kids. Just seen them as annoying and irritating, sometimes even bad tempered and horrible. And at other occasions seen them get ill treated.

The reason why I probably haven’t liked kids that much is because of my own life. They have reminded me of my childhood where I was afraid of going to school everyday. Everytime I see a kid treat another youth bad all I can see is red because I know the feeling of being pushed.

Lucky for me, just the last few years I’ve gotten to know some awesome kids. For instance my nieces. They are adorable and I miss them alot. That’s the hardest part about being in the other hemisphere, I miss them so much. It is a fact that they do grow centimeters and IQ everyday. And one day I want to take their photographies. Tell them stories, read to them and use all different kinds of voices. Just be there for them, because that’s what they deserve.

Unfortunately I only have good pictures of this little spillevink though I know my sister Petra have awesome pictures of hers and Niclas’ wonderful treasure.

I am so grateful of having the opportunity nowadays to associate the word “kids” with my nieces and others I’ve met, compared to before when all I could think of was the kids from school who chased me home, stole my things, called me names and tried to break my spine on a hand rail.
